A midnight bell tolls on the streets of Wildegrens as villagers hastily shutter their windows against the encroaching darkness. An unsettling presence stirs in the night—slithering through the forest, wandering the fields, and haunting the old battlefield. The isolated village faces grave danger: crops are failing, animals are perishing, and townsfolk are mysteriously disappearing. Fear grips the hearts of the villagers, but some brave women are rising to resist the chaos, even as others whisper that they may have struck a deal with the devil himself.

As a shadow flits from the old school to the town well, a feeble light reveals two witches who exchange knowing glances, snuff out their lantern, and venture into the dark woods. Witchcraft! is a fast-paced, card-driven solitaire game that invites you to lead a coven of witches in a fantastical world where magic thrives—alongside terrifying monsters.

Utilizing a hidden/revealed mechanic reminiscent of Resist!, players must strategically decide when to wield magic against formidable challenges, all while grappling with the risk of being exposed as witches. As you complete missions and vanquish enemies, your goal is to prove to the villagers that magic can be a force for good. But beware—the verdict of a jury composed of three jurors weighs heavily, and their conviction is unwavering. Will you manage to persuade them? Or will darkness triumph over you and the village?

At the start of the game, you will assemble your coven from a deck of cards representing families of women, each with unique abilities. By selecting multiple witches from a single family, you amplify their collective strength. Each family excels in different areas: revealing challenges, boosting attack power, exposing juror convictions, or capturing familiars to assist you in your quest.

The stakes are high, and every one of the eight jurors faces a different villain—will you confront the Headless Horseman, Baba Yaga, the Scarecrow, or another lurking fiend? With setup options allowing you to choose three jurors along with their missions and unique challenges, you have access to a whopping 56 combinations, ensuring a rich and varied gameplay experience.

Keep in mind: losing two missions or five villagers means game over. Even if you complete your quests, the unforgiving trial remains. Only when you reveal the jurors' conviction will you discover if your efforts to persuade them were enough to secure your freedom and the fate of the village.
