Game Overview

Verdun unfolds over 1 to 3 rounds of high-stakes strategy. Before the first round begins, each team discreetly positions one of their Assets behind each of their five Fortifications, setting the stage for tactical play. Each player starts with a hand of 12 cards, which they will strategically use in a series of 12 tricks.

In each trick, teams aim to minimize Casualties while safeguarding their Assets and Fortifications. Points are earned through successfully overrunning the opponent’s fortifications, capturing their Assets, and protecting your own. However, beware—Casualties will cost you points! At the end of three gripping rounds, the team with the most points, or the lowest negative score, emerges victorious.
