Welcome aboard the SS Atlantica, where the year is 1913 and the seas hold secrets darker than the depths below. As the steamship sets sail on its journey to Boston, passengers expect a peaceful voyage, unaware that ominous nightmares plague their minds night after night. Whispers of dark shapes lurking beneath the waves fill the air, and a chilling discovery in the ship’s chapel—a body surrounded by remnants of a strange ritual—turns their journey into a nightmare.

But what lurks beneath the Atlantic is far more terrifying than imagined. A horde of vicious and unspeakable horrors, the Deep Ones, led by the menacing Mother Hydra and Father Dagon, has locked their sights on the Atlantica. Their sinister hybrid minions, posing as human crew members, have infiltrated the steamship. As one of these undercover saboteurs, you must unleash chaos among the passengers, striving to sink the ship from the inside.

In Unfathomable, players find themselves in the midst of paranoia and betrayal. As a human, your mission is to fend off the Deep Ones, safeguard the ship from damage, and expertly manage its four crucial resources. But beware! Trust no one as you attempt to discern who among your fellow players is a loyal ally and who is a treacherous foe.

With a shared resource pool, the tension escalates as humans aim to preserve the supplies while traitors work tirelessly to deplete them. Spotting a player secretly sabotaging the group’s efforts becomes increasingly challenging, especially with crises erupting around you!

At the end of each player's turn, you’ll pull a mythos card, representing crises that the whole group must confront. From “Food Rationing,” which poses difficult choices that risk passenger lives and resources, to a “Hull Leak” that demands a skill test where failure could lead to devastating outcomes, every decision counts.

During skill tests, players contribute skill cards from their hands to a communal stack, adding an element of mystery as cards are shuffled and revealed. If enough correct skills are played, the group succeeds! But tread carefully; the wrong contributions, especially from traitors, can lead to failure, turning every skill test into a perilous gamble that keeps you on high alert.
