Each variant is designed to be played separately, offering unique challenges and strategies to explore:

Even/Odd: At setup, place a double-sided even/odd card beside the lowest starting card, choosing either the even or odd face to align with that card. Only cards matching the face type can be added to this row, while even cards must go to the other three rows. If you claim the row next to this card, move it to the row with the lowest number, flipping it if necessary.

Mountain Climbing: Begin by positioning a double-sided card to the left of the bottommost starting card, ensuring the up arrow is exposed. Cards in this row are arranged in descending order rather than ascending! For instance, if you play 35, and the descending row currently ends at 40 while an ascending row concludes at 28, you would place your card in the descending row due to the shorter difference with 40. When this row is taken, shift the double-sided card up to the next row, and continue until it reaches the top.

The Jumping Cow: Set up by placing the jumping cow card to the right of the lowest starting card, counting it as part of that row. When the sixth card is played in this row, players collect the number cards except the one they just played. The cow then leaps to the end of the row with the lowest number on the right! If this row now contains six cards, the player collects these as well.

Number Spinner: For this variant, each player receives a number spinner card along with ten number cards. Once during the round, players can play the spinner with a two-digit number card, reversing the digits for placement. For example, a card showing 41 would be played as 14. However, the original digits are used for any subsequent card placements.

Beat the Buffalo: This new co-operative variant allows 1-6 players to team up against the buffalo in a bid to score less collectively. At setup, deal ten cards to the buffalo board and draw 0-16 random action cards based on player count, displaying two. Each turn, all players reveal their chosen cards, followed by flipping the buffalo's top number card. All cards are placed as usual, and players can utilize action cards at any point to influence gameplay, such as making rows off-limits or repositioning cards. In games with one or two players, the buffalo must score at least twice what the players do to secure a win!
