Ticket to Ride Map Collection 5: United Kingdom & Pennsylvania offers an exciting double-sided game board that revitalizes your Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe experience. Now, you can carve your way through the stunning landscapes of the British Isles and the bustling routes of Pennsylvania!

In the Pennsylvania segment of this collection, a dynamic share mechanism is introduced, enhancing the classic gameplay. As players complete routes, they claim shares from various companies positioned beside those routes. At the end of the game, players holding the most shares from any single company earn valuable points, adding a strategic twist that keeps everyone on their toes!

The United Kingdom portion brings the innovation of technology into the mix. Starting with one- and two-train routes exclusively in England, players can expand their capabilities by utilizing wild cards. This allows them to construct three-train or longer routes, navigate across waterways with ferries, and explore train routes extending into Scotland, Wales, and Ireland. Bonus cards are also available, providing extra scoring opportunities for savvy players taking specific actions throughout the game, making this journey through the railway era all the more rewarding.

It’s important to note that designer Alan R. Moon has highlighted in his Design Diary that the Advanced Technology Cards were not fully playtested. He has encouraged players to use these cards at their discretion, as they were intended as a bonus rather than a mandatory feature.

While this collection is officially an expansion for Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe, it can also be used with Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries. Keep in mind that gameplay with Nordic Countries is limited to three players only and requires the use of spare trains. The UK map needs 35 trains, the Pennsylvania map requires 45 trains, while Nordic Countries includes 40 of each color, plus five spare for additional fun!
