Now, your factions can utilize state-of-the-art ships to navigate the rivers and engage in lucrative trade. With the addition of a magnificent shipyard, players can enhance their shipping capabilities and produce ships to sail across the seas. Each faction is equipped with its own unique shipyard, featuring twenty faction board extensions that unlock a variety of exciting abilities.

Using your ships to trade offers exciting rewards! Earn Victory Points and resources based on the buildings you deliver to, while navigating rival factions' ships can grant your faction valuable power. But beware! As your ships trade and traverse the waterways, they can also dig and facilitate the construction of Dwellings in adjacent hexes. This dynamic shipping and Dwelling mechanism introduces a new layer of tactical depth to the rich strategies of Terra Mystica.

Further enriching the gameplay are 12 new round scoring tiles, which challenge each faction to adapt and strategize. Discover four new Ship-related Favor tiles, three exciting bonus tiles, and explore two new town tiles and maps—Lakes and Fjords. These new maps and round scoring tiles can also be integrated with the base game for enhanced replayability.

While enjoying the Merchants of the Seas expansion does not require the Fire and Ice expansion, it seamlessly supports its factions, allowing you to blend and enhance your gaming experience even further.
