Meet the Targia, a special pawn representing a Tuareg woman, who boasts a positive impact on gameplay. Unlike the robber, she starts at the opposite end of the board and moves one edge card each turn. When you place one of your Targi on the same card as the Targia, you receive a valuable favor. Choose to take a goods token of your choice, or spend one good to reveal the top card from the draw pile and claim the rewards it offers. Suddenly, previously less enticing edge cards become appealing, thanks to her added benefits!

But that's not all! Discover the power of shifting sand cards, which provide substantial immediate advantages when you place a Targi on them. However, beware: these cards are positioned next to the central playing area, meaning you forfeit an intersection on the central cards in exchange for their benefits.
