Stress Botics

Embark on a thrilling sci-fi adventure with Stress Botics, where four easily stressed robots, known as Beta Bots, are dispatched to a mysterious exoplanet by their corporate overlords, Cubebotics CORP®. These plucky robots are on a mission to mine precious resources and deliver them back to the corporation’s ships. But watch out—it's far from straightforward!

The exoplanet you’ll explore is anything but stable. Your Beta Bots must tackle an ever-changing landscape, where adaptability is key. Adding to the challenge, each corporate ship has its own unique resource requirements, meaning precise timing and alignment with the ship’s orbital trajectory is crucial for successful deliveries. As if that wasn't enough, the rival corporation, Cylindroids INC®, has sent its own bots to thwart your mission and snag the best resources.

But fear not! The Beta Bots have an ally in the form of Alpha Bot, a support robot equipped with a (very) short-tempered AI. Alpha Bot unlocks new mining locations, provides extra actions, and generally helps make your robots' lives easier. Just keep an eye on those pesky Cylindroid bots, as they’ll seize any opportunity to damage your precious guardian!

Game Mechanics:
The game is structured around rounds, with each round featuring unexpected events that could spell trouble for the Beta Bots! Players secretly program actions to interact with the resource-heavy chambers of the planet, face off against enemies, or collaborate with Alpha Bot. Players commit to their chosen actions before revealing them, resulting in a strategic showdown.

The turn order—and how effectively each bot can deliver resources—depends on their stress levels. Each player manages their very own robot blueprint, where they store resources within limited-capacity containers. These resources can be delivered to passing ships, transformed, or used to enhance the capabilities of their bots.

As the adventure unfolds, Alpha Bot will move through the planet's chambers, ascending toward the surface. Players can interact with Alpha Bot for strategic advantages or to help guide it out of danger, as it's susceptible to enemy attacks and the planet’s many challenges.

At the conclusion of each round, it's maintenance time! Enemy robots (the Cylindroids) will activate, moving, attacking, or dominating resource chambers. Players will also face benefits or penalties, such as stress, based on their proximity to Alpha Bot.

The game culminates when Alpha Bot reaches the final chamber. Players tally their victory points, earned through successful resource deliveries, completing upgrades, or fulfilling various objectives. However, players must subtract points for any stress accumulated during play, leaving the one with the most remaining points as the triumphant winner!
