Featuring a captivating 66-card deck, Skull King includes five Escape cards, four suits numbered 1-13, five Pirate cards, one Tigress card, and the mighty Skull King card. Over ten thrilling rounds, players receive cards that correspond to the round number, introducing a unique strategic twist.

During the bidding phase, players can discreetly signal their desired number of tricks with closed fists or fingers, even opting to bid zero tricks. Standard trick-taking rules are in play: players take turns leading, and others must follow suit if able; otherwise, they can play any card from their hand.

Prepare for unexpected surprises as players utilize special unnumbered cards to shake things up. The black Jolly Roger suit beats all other suits, while the Mermaid card trumps all numbered cards. Pirate cards dominate the Mermaids, but the Skull King tops them all—unless he encounters the clever Mermaid, who can capture him instead.

While Escape cards appear weak, losing to any other card, the Tigress can function as either a Pirate or an Escape card, depending on your strategy. The winner of each trick earns the privilege to lead the next one.

Points are awarded based on how accurately players meet their bids: hit it right, and each trick earns 20 points! If you miss the mark, you lose 10 points for each trick off your target. A daring zero-trick bid can earn you ten times the current round’s number in points—but beware! Winning tricks while bidding zero will deduct those points!

Bonus points are available for those who master the art of strategy, rewarding achievements like defeating Pirates with the Skull King or winning tricks with the elusive Mermaid. At the conclusion of ten electrifying rounds, the player with the highest score is declared the champion of Skull King.
