The game begins with an air of mystery. Players close their eyes as the fascists reveal their identities to each other, while Secret Hitler remains oblivious, keeping his eyes shut but quietly signaling his identity with a raised thumb. This twist adds layers of strategy, as the fascists collaborate to spread distrust, while the liberals must work diligently to uncover and thwart Secret Hitler's treacherous plans. Remember, the liberal team holds a numerical advantage—unity is their strength!

Each round unfolds with an election where players nominate a President and a Chancellor, who together will attempt to pass new laws from a shuffled deck. Should the government pass a fascist law, suspicion will arise, leading to tense discussions about betrayal or mere misfortune. As fascism grows stronger, powerful governmental actions come into play, providing the fascists with opportunities to sow chaos and push the nation closer to war.

The game's thrilling objectives challenge both teams: the liberals aim to pass five liberal policies or eliminate Secret Hitler, while the fascists work to enact six fascist policies or successfully elect Secret Hitler as Chancellor after three fascist laws have been established.
