As autumn bids farewell in the enchanting Savernake Forest, it’s time to lend a helping hand to the lovable animals as they gather and store food for the chilly winter ahead!

In Savernake Forest, a delightful game for 2-4 players, you’ll create your own segment of the forest by building paths where various animals and delicious food will appear. Your goal? To earn the highest score by ensuring each animal can collect their favorite treats along these paths!

With up to 23 unique animal species populating the forest—including playful foxes, curious hedgehogs, industrious beavers, wise owls, nimble rabbits, hardworking woodpeckers, and elusive wild cats—there’s no shortage of friends to assist in the challenge of winter preparation. But watch out! Each animal has specific tastes; for instance, the wily fox adores eggs but turns its nose up at berries and nuts.

Gameplay is as captivating as the creatures! Each player begins with two decks of square cards: one depicting the animals and the other showcasing forest paths laden with scrumptious food. Players will randomly receive an animal card that indicates their favorites and how much food they can store. During setup, three road cards and one animal card are displayed for all to admire.

On your turn, select a card and incorporate it into your forest while adhering to three simple rules: no more than one animal per path, cards must be adjacent, and everything must fit within a 4x4 grid. The game culminates when all players have constructed their complete forests with a total of 16 cards!

Utilize the special abilities of certain animals to gain an upper hand! The rooster can help you rise and shine early, ensuring you get first dibs on your next card. Meanwhile, the armadillo teaches you to create better shelters, allowing you to increase your animal's food storage with a burrow token. The wise goat will show you how to stay hydrated, providing a water drop token that elevates the value of your food. And, of course, the friendly rabbit assists in attracting new animals to your thriving forest!

For those seeking an extra challenge, a two-player variant with modified rules is included in the rulebook, perfect for seasoned players looking to test their skills!
