Your empire begins with savvy trades; imagine exchanging a stunning antique theater or a handful of sparkling diamonds!

In this engaging strategy game, players will outwit, outmaneuver, and even bribe their rivals to build a prosperous domain from the remnants of Rome. With its unique "cut-and-choose" mechanic, Rome in a Day is perfect for aspiring conquerors of all ages.

Before the game begins, each player receives a personal set of building cards and a stack of land tiles—five distinct types await, including fields, cities, and olive gardens. Plus, you’ll collect gems and crystals, choice cards for larger and smaller lands, reminder cards, and screens to keep your plans hidden.

The game unfolds over four thrilling turns. In each turn, players draw five land tiles and display them in front of themselves. They then select two building cards and allocate them to two of the lands on their left.

Next, it’s time to divide the five land pieces into two groups—large and small—using any ratio you like (3-to-2, 1-to-4, or even 5-to-0) along with adding one crystal to the smaller grouping.

When everyone is ready, the exchange begins! Players reveal their screens, offering their carefully curated land selections to their opponents. In the first turn, lands are chosen from the player on the left, then from the right in the second, continuing to alternate for maximum interaction.

Once selections are made, players use choice cards to indicate their land preferences. Then, each player takes their chosen lands from the player on the left and integrates them into their growing empire.

As the game progresses, players strategically construct their domains, aiming to create the most profitable empire possible.

So, how do you earn points? Gain rewards for every type of terrain with its corresponding building nearby; the more the merrier, as the points multiply! Additionally, those precious crystals obtained from smaller lands will also score you points—3 points for each crystal collected.
