Dive into a world of strategic play with the Lakes Expansion! Your mission? Construct beautiful Lakes and strategically position Ferries to rack up points. But that’s not all—each Lake also serves a vital function! You can extend a route into the lakeside of a tile to create a Harbor. Imagine this as taking advantage of Canal End tokens from the Canals Expansion. Once you establish a Harbor, all routes connected to that Lake via Harbors link together, transforming Lakes into vibrant hubs of connectivity—big Stations, if you will!

The Lakes Expansion introduces a unique twist in how Ferries are placed. At the end of each round, when you're arranging your active Placement tokens and placing your pawns, pay close attention to your Lakes. If you find that you have more Harbors than Ferries in a specific Lake, you’re in luck! You may place one Ferry pawn for free on any empty Ferry pin until your number of Ferries matches your Harbors in that Lake.

Scoring is thrilling too! You’ll earn 1 point plus an additional point for each Ferry residing in the same Lake, up to a cozy cap of 3 Prestige points. While these Ferries have a lower point threshold than other pawns that can yield up to 5 points each, remember: you can place them for free, giving you an edge on your other Placement tokens.

As with all expansions, the Lakes Expansion enriches your experience with new Objectives. Challenge yourself to ensure Fishermen's Island is accessible by at least 3 Traveler pawns or make the Hydroelectric Plant part of a closed Lake with no open sides.
