This expansion includes essential items like pawns and objectives, alongside special components such as the innovative Canal End tokens.

At the start of each round, players will reveal Route tiles by strategically mixing tiles from both the Core Box bag and the Expansion bag. Each column will maintain the balance of tiles according to the number of square icons displayed at the top, ensuring that gameplay duration remains consistent with the core rules. Enjoy the familiar flow of the game while diving into fresh, new challenges!

This blend of core and expansion tiles alters gameplay dynamics dramatically, affecting the availability of specific tiles and keeping every game session invigorating. Prepare to navigate the construction of enchanting canals, bridges, and gondolas reminiscent of the beautiful city of Venice.

Your objective? Construct the longest canals possible! Each Canal tile scores 1 Prestige point for every tile it contains beyond the second tile, making a Canal with 5 tiles worth a whopping 3 points. Be strategic about sealing those open ends too—each closure is penalized by -2 points at the end of the game. To close a Canal, simply connect it to an empty side of a tile and proudly place your Canal End token atop it!

Moreover, some Canal tiles feature routes with open gaps, providing the perfect opportunity to build Bridges. Connect both ends of the “open” route to maximize your scoring potential with gondolas. Each gondola is worth 1 point, plus an additional point for every bridge in the same canal—perfect for creating those picturesque sightseeing moments!
