You’ll encounter an incredible array of wildlife, including colorful toucans, playful sloths, sneaky snakes, and vibrant butterflies. In Pura Vida, you take on the role of a dedicated ranger tasked with creating a balanced animal population across these diverse nature parks. Your challenge? To consider the individual and natural movements of the animals while making strategic decisions. As you navigate the game, you’ll also embrace the cheerful and laid-back attitude of Costa Rica—Pura Vida!

Gameplay is straightforward yet filled with exciting choices:

On your turn, you’ll choose one of two actions:

• Move: Navigate your ranger along the path and collect a tile where your movement ends. Strategically place it in your national park, aligning animals and landscapes to maximize your points!
• Rest: Retreat to the rest area. This means no additional moves for the round, allowing you to strategize for the next turn.

Scoring comes from how expertly you place tiles in your park. When you add a tile, check for biodiversity criteria to earn points:

• For 3/4/5 tiles in a row or column featuring different animals paired with the same landscape, score 2/2/3 points.
• For 3/4/5 tiles in a row or column with different landscapes but the same animals, earn 2/2/3 points.
• For 3/4/5 tiles in a row or column that incorporate both different animals and landscapes, gain 1/1/2 points.

The game concludes as soon as a player reaches a minimum of 20 points, and that player is declared the winner!
