Step into the enchanting world of Paris, a captivating two-player board game crafted by the talented José Antonio Abascal, with stunning visuals by artist Oriol Hernández. Set against the backdrop of late 19th century Paris during the iconic 1889 “Exposition Universelle,” or World’s Fair, this game immerses players in the city when public electricity was revolutionizing the nightlife.
As the sun sets, witness the rise of "La Cité de la Lumière" – The City of Light. Players will compete to illuminate their buildings, earning admiration from the ever-curious passers-by who roam the beautifully lit streets.
The game unfolds over two thrilling phases. In the first, players have the choice to either place exquisite cobblestone tiles or expand their collection of buildings. Each tile is uniquely divided into four random spaces, which include colors representing both players, streetlights, and mixed-color spaces that allow for strategic building opportunities.
During the second phase, the real challenge begins as players build atop their color or into the mixed spaces. The goal? To position their structures as close to the glowing streetlights as possible. Each streetlight beckons more admirers and scores more points. In this competition of charm and strategy, the player with the most brilliantly lit buildings captures the hearts of Parisian pedestrians and emerges victorious.
Will you rise to the challenge and light up the streets of Paris? The enchantment awaits!
