As the Witch, your main objective is to conduct a ritual of renaturation before your true identity is discovered and you are eliminated by the Witch Hunter. With nine villagers under suspicion, only the Witch knows the truth, adding a layer of strategy and intrigue to every game.

With each turn, players utilize action pawns on villagers to draw and play cards, gain influence, and manage the ever-present Gloom. The Witch can craft potent potions, enhance their familiar, and unleash enchantments and charms. Meanwhile, the Witch Hunter rallies allies, claims strategic locations, and systematically investigates the villagers, creating a tense battlefield of wits and tactics.

Gloom serves as a powerful new resource that benefits the Witch as long as it remains in play, symbolizing the Witch's deep connection with the land. Gloom enters the game through various cards and can fluctuate throughout the course of play. Some cards even have the ability to exceed the usual limits of Gloom, adding complexity and excitement. But beware! With effort and determination, the Witch Hunter can cleanse the village of Gloom by meticulously removing it from the cards. Once a card is cleansed, it is discarded, altering the landscape of the game.
