Step into the bustling heart of transportation history with On the Underground, a captivating board game inspired by the world’s first underground passenger railway: the London Underground, which opened its doors in 1863. With its 11 bustling lines, this iconic system transports around 5 million passengers daily across 270 stations and spans an astounding 400 km (250 mi) of track.

You are invited to dive into the depths of one of the most intricate transport networks in existence. In On the Underground, players compete to develop their own railway lines, connect to landmarks, and attract passenger traffic to build the most lucrative transit lines!

Gameplay Overview
In On the Underground, players have the exhilarating task of constructing either Underground lines in London or U-Bahn lines in Berlin. Depending on the number of players, you will manage 2 to 4 distinct lines. Each turn brings strategic choices as you select from four destination cards representing various stations on the map.

You can choose up to four actions per turn—these can be building track by placing a track token on the board or claiming a branch token. With clever use of two branch tokens, players can create new connections from existing lines, expanding their reach like never before!

After each player’s turn, a passenger token travels along the lines, aiming to reach one or two destinations chosen at the turn's start. As they journey, the corresponding destination cards are replaced with fresh ones, keeping the game dynamic and engaging. The next player then takes their turn, adding to the excitement!

Scoring Points:
There are two main ways to accumulate points:

• Build track and connect to various station types, create circular lines in London, or collect tiles from prominent landmark stations in Berlin.
• Earn points based on the passenger's journey along your lines!

The game concludes once all destination cards have been drawn and each player has had an equal number of turns. Who will emerge as the master of urban transit?

What’s New in the Latest Edition
This new edition introduces exciting updates and balances gameplay:

• The first player now takes three actions on their initial turn, while the last player takes five, enhancing early-game strategy.
• The passenger token will no longer be removed immediately when the draw deck is empty, adding depth to the turns.
• A brand new map for Berlin, complete with unique cards and tiles, offers fresh challenges and opportunities.
• In the London map, several single connections have been upgraded to double connections, while some connections have been modified for improved gameplay.
• The New Cross station and the Aldgate-Canada Water connection have been removed to streamline the experience.
