Living Forest

Step into the enchanting world of Living Forest, where you take on the role of a nature spirit on a courageous mission to protect the sacred tree and its beloved forest from the perilous flames of Onibi. Fear not, for you are joined by a loyal assembly of animal guardians who gather around the mystical Circle of Spirits to aid you in your quest.

As you journey through this vibrant forest, your animal companions bring crucial elements each turn. Strategically combine their strengths, but tread carefully—some guardians prefer solitude and may not mix well with the others!

Your path to victory is not singular; you have three distinct ways to achieve your goal:

• Plant 12 different Protective Trees
• Collect 12 Sacred Flowers to awaken Sanki, the great Guardian of the Forest
• Extinguish 12 Fires to permanently repel the forces of Onibi

Each turn unfolds in three gripping phases:

1. Guardian Animals Phase: This exciting simultaneous push-your-luck phase involves drawing Guardian Animal cards from your personal stack to create your Animal Guardian Help Line. You can stop at any time, but beware—revealing a card with a third solitary symbol signifies the end of your drawing, sealing your Help Line.

2. Action Phase: In this turn-based phase, if your Help Line displays fewer than three solitary symbols (not canceled by gregarious symbols), you can perform two different Actions. If you are hindered by three solitary symbols, you’re limited to only one Action. The power of your actions is determined by the number of corresponding Elements visible on your Guardian Animal cards and your personal Forest board.

3. End of the Turn: As you wrap up your turn, prepare for the following events:

• If there are remaining Fires in the Circle of Spirits and you can’t resist them, add Fire Varan cards to your discard stack based on the number of Fire tiles
• Onibi will strike at the Sacred Tree, adding Fires equal to the number of Guardian Animal cards played this turn
• New Guardian Animals will arrive, filling the reserve with new cards in accordance with how many were played
• Pass the Sacred Tree to the next Spirit of Nature clockwise
• Return all Animal Guardian cards from your Help Line to your personal discard stack

As the game progresses, it culminates at the end of a complete turn when a Nature Spirit successfully collects either 12 different Protective Trees, 12 Fires, or 12 Sacred Flowers. Will you rise to the challenge and secure the future of the forest? The adventure awaits in Living Forest!
