Kobayakawa invites you into a world of thrilling bluffing and sharp deduction! Designed by Jun Sasaki, this stylish game keeps its components minimalistic, featuring just 15 cards, 32 tokens, and a start player marker, making it perfect for quick setup and gameplay.

The rules are straightforward, ensuring that everyone can jump into the action quickly:

Each player begins with 4 tokens while 8 tokens are placed in the center of the table. Any remaining tokens are set aside for later use.

After shuffling the deck, each player is dealt one card face down. An additional card, known as the Kobayakawa, is placed face up next to the deck, adding an exciting twist to the game!

During their turn, players can choose to either:

  • Draw a card to add to their hand and publicly discard one of their two cards.
  • Flip over the top card of the deck to replace the current Kobayakawa.

Once all players have taken their turns, it’s time to make a decision. Will they stay in the game and 'fight' by betting a token?

Players who choose to fight reveal their cards, with the player holding the lowest value card adding the value of the Kobayakawa to their own. The player with the highest total wins the round, claiming all the tokens bet, and an extra token from the center, along with the coveted start player token for the next round.

But watch out! In the 7th round, when only 2 tokens remain in the center, the stakes are raised, doubling the bonus to 2 tokens!

After the thrilling 7th round, the game concludes, and the player with the most tokens emerges as the champion!

Example Round:

Kobayakawa: 8
Player A: 9
Player B: Pass
Player C: 15
Player D: 12

In this scenario, Player C holds the highest card value (15) but Player A wins the round, as their score of 9 combined with the Kobayakawa (8) totals 17!
