Unleash the chaos and excitement of King of Tokyo: Power Up! – a thrilling expansion for the beloved King of Tokyo base game! This expansion introduces Pandakai, the fierce giant panda bear, ready to join the monster mayhem.
Each player will select their monster and receive a unique set of eight Evolution cards tailored specifically to that character. Shuffle those cards to create a personal deck, adding a fresh strategic layer to your gameplay. At the end of your turn, if you’ve accumulated three hearts, you can draw one Evolution card and add it to your hand. This bonus is possible even while in Tokyo, where hearts usually lose their value, and regardless of whether they were used for other actions like healing!
Play your Evolution cards at any moment during the game! Some Evolutions offer exciting one-time bonuses, while others provide lasting benefits. For example, Gigazaur's “Tail Sweep” allows you to adjust one die to a 1 or 2 each turn – a powerful move that can change the course of battle. Each Evolution card also identifies whether a monster belongs to the categories of Mutant, Invader, or Robot. While this classification isn't directly relevant for Power Up!, it opens up exciting possibilities for future expansions!
The rules for King of Tokyo: Power Up! introduce various play variants: start with a random Evolution in play, draw two cards to choose your favorite, or draft a set of Evolutions before the game begins. Regardless of how you play, the goal remains thrillingly the same: achieve 20 points or be the last monster standing among the ruins of Tokyo!
Join the lively roster of monsters in the King of Tokyo series and elevate your gaming experience with this action-packed expansion!
