Gang of Four™ is a thrilling game that combines Cunning, Strategy, and Power. Your mission? Be the first to shed all your cards and rise to supreme power! But tread carefully—one misplaced move could leave you fighting for survival.

Historical Context
Originally, the term "Gang of Four" referred to a faction of powerful radicals in Communist China, who gained significant influence during the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). Led by the ambitious Jiang Qing, the wife of Chairman Mao, they held sway over China’s political, economic, and cultural landscape for years. Their reign ended shortly after Mao's death in 1976 when they were arrested, marking a pivotal shift away from radicalism in China's history.

The Gang of Four card game was inspired by the tumultuous backdrop of this era. Invented by Lee Yih, the game captures the mystery, intrigue, and fierce struggle for power that defined not only China's recent political saga but also its historical legacy. Just like the political Gang of Four, this game represents a relentless quest for dominance—where only the cunning survive, and the strongest prevail.

Gameplay
Each player starts with a hand full of cards. The player who is dealt the multi-colored "1" card leads the game, using that card as their first play. Players then take turns in a clockwise direction, reversing to counterclockwise for the next round.

During your turn, you must play the same number of cards but a higher-ranked set than the previous player. Feeling ambitious? You can play even more cards if you have four or more of a kind! Rounds progress until all players pass, either unable or unwilling to play. The previous round's winner leads the next hand.

The game continues until one player has successfully played all their cards. Other players are penalized points based on how many cards remain in their hands on an escalating scale. The game concludes when one player reaches 100 points, and the player with the lowest score is declared the ultimate victor!
