The game centers around a dynamic tableau of 8 cards laid out from left to right, each representing a different region brimming with opportunities for discovery. As you traverse Alula, characters illustrated on these cards will offer you victory points if you can fulfill their requirements later in the game.

Here's where the excitement lies: at the game's conclusion, you'll retrace your steps, scoring cards in the reverse order of your play. This dual approach adds a strategic layer—what you play defines your future goals, while simultaneously working to accomplish the objectives you've already committed to!

Every turn, you'll select a card from a hand of 3 and then draw a new one from the vibrant face-up river. But beware! With simultaneous play in Faraway, you'll need to navigate a clever priority system. If you find yourself last to pick a card, you may face limited options and potentially lower-scoring opportunities in upcoming turns.
