Carcassonne: Expansão 9 - Vinhas e Ovelhas invites players to embark on a new pastoral adventure in this engaging ninth expansion of the beloved Carcassonne base game. Step into the role of a shepherd while continuing the quests of thieves, knights, monks, and farmers. As you strategically place tiles, you'll ascend to dizzying heights, crafting hills and vineyards while vying for the sweetest meadows to claim as your own.

This expansion introduces exciting new gameplay mechanics, including hills that elevate your strategic approach. When a tile with a hill icon is added to the landscape, it is stacked atop a randomly drawn tile, creating a majestic hill. These hills serve as critical tie-breakers: if multiple players contest a feature equally, the player with a follower on a hill gains the upper hand, earning all points for that contested feature!

Vineyards play a pivotal role in boosting the value of monasteries. Surrounding each monastery with vineyard tiles adds three bonus points to its score. However, these points only count if the monastery is successfully completed, prompting players to disrupt their opponents’ plans and keep those valuable monasteries unachieved.

Introducing shepherds—new game pieces that occupy fields, players face an exciting choice each time they expand a field. You can either draw a sheep token from the bag to place alongside your shepherd or trade in all your accumulated sheep for points. Each token carries a value of 1-4 points, depending on its depiction. But beware! Included among the sheep tokens are two wolf tokens, and drawing one spells doom for your flock, sending all your hard-earned sheep back into the bag. This element of risk brings a thrilling push-your-luck dynamic to every decision made!
