ANTS invites players into a captivating world of strategy, where worker management and territorial expansion reign supreme. Select from a variety of unique Queen tiles at the start of the game, each shaping your approach and enriching your interactions within this intricate system.

As you guide your ant colony through cycles of growth, exploration, and conquest, your goal is to dominate the lush garden ecosystem. With every turn, you have six core actions at your disposal: Dig, Explore, Gather, Incubate, Play Cards, or Defeat Enemies. Enhance your strategy with free actions that maximize your colony’s efficiency.

Your main actions rely on the specialized ants from your colony. The number of ants you allocate (from 1 to 4) directly affects the power of your chosen action. Will you expand your nest by carefully positioning room tiles, uncover hexagonal territories to gather resources and confront foes, or mobilize gatherer ants to establish vital supply networks?

At the game's core lies the management of your colony's life cycle. Your incubation board keeps track of three key phases: eggs, larvae, and ants. Within these stages are three specializations—diggers, explorers, and gatherers. Wild ants act as versatile assets that can adapt to any specialization need. Incubation enables you to complete enterprises, trigger production effects, nurture your larvae with food cubes, and advance through the life cycle.

Strategically manage your nest's architecture to unlock its full potential. By placing room tiles effectively, you can complete areas of your nest and instantly reap rewards in the form of precious stars—one of your main sources of victory points.

The garden map evolves into a dynamic battlefield, where your explorations reveal both resources and enemies. Gatherer ants automate resource collection and leave pheromone trails when hexes are exhausted, creating a network of influence across the garden.
